Access Methods
TRIV Platform™ – Access Methods:
The TRIV Platform™ is Access Method agnostic and supports full convergence. Access Methods can vary from mobile and wireless, to Web and wire-line networks. Security schemes and enabled services are configured according to the Access Method.

SMS:
|
- Traditional and most widely used in the mobile world.
- Usage example: Topup prepaid account using SMS.

|
Web:
|
- Secure and interactive.
- Allows access to all management tools as well as all services
- Usage example: Purchase goods from a Web portal.
|
|
WAP:
|
- Interactive but less secure then Web.
- Allows interactive services.
- Usage example: Purchase ringtones from a WAP portal.

|
USSD:
|
- Interactive but limited access method.
- Supports GSM networks only.
- Short-session services.
- Usage example: Purchase drinks from a vending machine using USSD.

Handset Applications (E.g. STK):
|
- Application installed on the hand-set, communicates with TRIV Platform™ via common protocols (such as SMS or GPRS).
- Secure and interactive.
- Usage example: Sell airtime from reseller to customer using handset application.

IVR:
|
- Common mainly in the fixed line networks.
- Interactive.
- Usage example: Pay bill using IVR
|
|
ATM:
|
- Common mostly in the developed world.
- Requires a bank-card.
- Interactive and secure.
- Usage example: Topup prepaid account using ATM.

PoS (Via Open API):
|
- Used by retailers and shops.
- Usage example: Sell airtime from reseller to customer using PoS.
|
|
NFC/RFID:
|
- Innovative technologies designed to identify devices for proximity-payment.
- Automatic identification.
- Usage example: Accessing a metro via an RFID control gate and pay using your SVA.
